The Library Commons at the Nanaimo campus is a large study space on the main (third) floor of the Library (Bldg 305), open 24-7 and featuring:

  • Student computers 
  • Colour and black & white printing
  • Photocopier-scanners
  • Group study tables 
  • Whiteboards*
  • Media editing technology** 
  • Coffee shop
  • the Library Totem

*Whiteboard marker/eraser kits can be borrowed from the Library Service Desk.

**VIU students and employees can book video/audio editing rooms or media workstations online from the VIU Library homepage - see links below. 

The Cowichan Learning Commons is located on the first floor of the Cowichan campus main building (700).  It consists of student access computers, printer and photocopier, silent study room, group study rooms, and services provided by the Library, Student Affairs, Registration and the Learning/Writing Centre.
